The Digital ID Hackathon, supported by Carnegie Mellon University Africa, brought together nearly 1,000 student innovators from 35+ countries to solve real-world challenges through Digital Identity and emerging technologies.
We are thrilled to share that among the 8 finalist teams, 3 teams built their solutions using the IDS Sandbox platform.
And now comes the proudest moment…
🥇 1st Place – Team TrustSeal (Senegal)
A solution leveraging Digital Identity to enable secure and trusted verification for real-world transactions.
🥈 2nd Place – Evolutics (Benin)
Their CottonPay solution helps farmers generate verifiable proof of income, enabling access to financial services and microcredit.
✨ Both winning teams leveraged the IDS Sandbox platform to build and showcase their innovative solutions. This is truly an immensely proud and rewarding moment for IDS.
Adding to this achievement, IDS became the first private organization to support this Digital ID Hackathon, with our CEO Sudharshan Reddy Minumula announcing internship opportunities for the top two winning teams to encourage innovation and future talent.
A heartfelt thank you to Gates Foundation, The Upanzi Network at CMU-Africa , MSC (MicroSave Consulting) – Afrique Francophone , Dr. Joseph J. Atick, and all stakeholders driving this incredible initiative. 🤝
Special thanks to Kanwaljit Singh, for his vision and leadership in enabling this platform for African students to build digital identity use cases – by Africa, for Africa, and for the world.
